Thanet Turf is a fourth-generation family business with a proud history stretching back more than 60 years. Established in 1965, we have grown from a small local supplier into one of the South East’s trusted names for quality turf supply, turf laying and lawn renovation services across Kent and London.
Our story began when my great-grandfather started trading under the name Riverview Supplies. Alongside Trevor’s Father, Sonny, the business initially supplied both turf and coal to customers. In 1965, Sonny relocated from Gravesend to Westgate-on-Sea to start a new chapter with his wife, and it was here that Thanet Turf was born.
Over the decades, the business evolved as demand for quality turf continued to grow. Whilst the coal trade gradually disappeared, our passion for producing and supplying premium turf remained. Today, I am proud to continue the family tradition as the fourth generation to run Thanet Turf, carrying forward the values of hard work, reliability and exceptional customer service that have defined the business since day one.
